Redesign (beta)

After the persistence of the previous ‘Watermelon’ theme for so many months, it was time for a change. Aayi’s Recipes has a new look and feel now. The redesign is an effort to improve neatness and reduce clutter. At the same time improve usability.

Still there is lots to do and fix a few missing elements from the earlier theme. That will be done in a phased manner.

The design is still in beta (as they say), so any constructive suggestions, comments are most welcome.

  2. Shilpa,

I liked your site the way it was earlier, this looks too plain for the the wonderful & colorful recipes you post. I suggest that you go for a darker color with maching fonts.

Just my suggetsion, no matter what ultimately its the food you post that matters 🙂

    Thanks
    Smitha

  3. Hi Shilpa,

the look is really cool…light blue or ski blue is always looks cool:-))..my suggetion is if you feel like you can make your banner look much attractive..my adding some of photos from your recipe…hope you got it:-)..but shilpa…all matters is your recipes..which are really good and great work….:)

  4. shilpa, your new look is nice. I also saw you have blogged about goli baje… I am so excited to try it out. I had them in manipal and have been wanting to make it again. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Hi Shilpa,
I think this new look is nice. It will take me some time to get used to it. Every time, when I decide to surf, “Aayi’s recipes” is the first website that I click. So I am very much used to the old design which was good too.

But this new look is refreshing. It goes very well with your blue colored dinner set.

    All the very best!

  6. hi shilpa,

I have started to visit your site from past 2-3 months and liked it a lot.

I think, you should add a dropdown menu button for each main category or your old way of displaying all the recipes name under the main category after clicking it was also good. Here I guess, user has to scroll all the way down to search any recipe, and it is a bit time consuming.
Also your old design was good and attractive, from my point of view.

    All the best..

  7. hi shilpa,

Congrats on a new cool blue look!! It sure looks refreshing. My suggestions are : it looks a bit plain for your
wonderful recipes…..so try to pep it up a little!! and i think a menu button will surely make it more neat and also
the blogroll you have there may be sorted alphabetically and similar to menu button can be introduced to search
alphabetically……..i think this will clear up and look more compact so you can decorate your blog more & more!! All the best! 🙂

  8. Shilpa …..I liked the new design. Good that you have the name on the pictures. Not easy to copy now, right? Thanks for posting and sharing such wonderful and delicious recipes both konkani and all others.
