Hello Shilpa,

Thanks for your site. I tried many Diwali recipes from the ones u have posted. I am a Bunt and would like to point out to you some difference in the way we make the curry. You would have to add 1 tablespoon of coriander seeds and 1 teaspoon of jeera (both well roasted and then ground into paste with the rest of the ingredients). Also we (meaning in my house) do not add ginger and coriander leaves.
Kudos on your efforts to make your aayi's recipes available to all.

Shilpa: Thanks Deepa. I will try your version next time.

Hi Shilpa

Do you know how to make the rice flakes roti commonly found in Mangalore? I noticed a mention in one of the comments. I am avid fan of yours and have successfully tried many many recipes. Would be delighted if you have the recipe for his hard to come by roti.

tks
tiba prabhu

Shilpa: Tiba, are you talking about Kori rotti? If yes, I still don't know how to make them. I tried a recipe a couple of days ago but it din't turn out as expected. Will definitely post it if I get it right.

Shilpa,
I tried this recipe on thanksgiving day since i did not have the patience to cook a turkey. I enjoyed it and tasted almost like the chicken curry my mom used to make back home. I used the hamilton beach blender which took me a while to get a smooth paste consistency:)

what kind of grinder do you use to make a thick paste? the blender i have requires some water to be added hence cant make a paste.

Shilpa: Sarita, I use Sumeet mixer for grinding all the gravies.

Hey Shilpa,
First of all, you have a wonderful collection of yummy recipes.. you have made it all look so simple..
My pregnant wife has been nurturing a craving for the Kori Roti with Mangalore Chicken kajipu. I have made the Kajipu (curry) a few times before and she loves it. but lately havent been able to find the "kori roti" anywhere here in NY/NJ/WDC areas. do u know, if the roti itself can be prepared at home? If not I may have to get those shipped from India.
thanks

Shilpa: I have seen a kori rotti recipe somewhere. Will check out and let you know.
