I live in Abuja, Nigeria. Your typical Indian recipes are really helping me to explain to our house girl here. They are so simple that house girls can pick them up very easily. I am relishing Indian cusine even in absence of my family. Thanks Shilpa.

I love this blog and I refer to this most of the time before starting any of the "difficult Recipes" and it has helped me a lot to cook best tasting food ever!! But I haven't seen a recipe for veg Jalfrazi? Have you tried it anytime? Can you please post it? I love to eat it but don't know how to cook it.

You have a exhaustive collection of recipes. Couple of times I visited your recipes and tried them. It has worked wonders. Thanks a lot to you.

I would like to remove 3 items from the above recipe and add one. The one to be added is a tea spoon of garam masala powder. This would give a nice fragrance. The items to be removed are coriander powder, cumin powder and mustard seeds. These 3 give the prominent fragrance of sambar to the recipe.

Shilpa..hi..my sil makes one version of moong dal fry learnt from her punju friend. Its simple too..cook the moong daal and churn it..shdnt be watery..take ghee, add mustard, jeera, green chillies, minced garlic, kadipatta, one small onion chopped-fry till its transculent, add cooked daal, adjust salt.Try it some time..its too delicious! (Tks for your version too!) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Shilpa: Hmm..looks something like muga dali saru that I prepare. I will have to try with kadipatta and other seasoning though.
