Very good recipe and also simple to make. But instead of tamarind, if you add lemon juice the green colour of the chutney will be retained and will be a real feast for the eyes.

wow great.......
thanq 4 this recepie... but i want to have them more crisper....n can we try any other vegetables?

Shilpa: You can apply more butter and then grill the sandwich for a longer time. That would make them more crispy. I think you can add cucumber, capsicum also to it, but I never tried.

Hi Shiplakka, Happy new year

Wow this looks yummy. A place in Mumbai I swear by called Dhiraj makes them in a different way.
Bread, butter, chutney(His chutney doesn't have coconut).
Put boiled potatoes, tomatoes both sliced.
Another bread on top with C and B either sides (skip butter for those on a diet)
Spread chopped capsicum and onions(sliced). Add grated cheese (optional).
Anpther bread. Now grill......

try this and let me know if you like it....
I think in your sandwitch olives will give it a zakkas twist..I'll try it.
