Rasam with coconut
Ingredients:
Toor Daal 2 tbl spns
Grated Coconut 2 tbl spns
Tomato 1
Cumin seeds(Jeera) 1/2 tspn
Cloves(Lavang) 3-4
Methi seeds 1/4 tspn
Jaggery 1 tspn
Red chillies 4-5
Oil
Salt
Coriander leaves
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Method:
Heat oil and fry cumin seeds, cloves, methi seeds & red chillies. Grind with coconut. Cook Toor daal.
Cook Tomato pieces in water. When cooked, add ground masala, daal, jaggery, salt and cook for some time. Add water to make it thin, of rasam consistency.
For Tadka, heat oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. When mustard starts suluttering, add this to rasam.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serves : 4

Shilpa: Shinu, itd dry red chilies. You can use any variety you have. I use Byadagi in all my cooking.
